Although ligand binding assays are often used to measure the pharmacokinetics of a monoclonal antibody (mAb) candidate, LC/MS/MS offers higher selectivity and specificity. Tandem quadrupole mass spectrometric methods have been applied to mAbs as an alternative to ligand binding assays for the bioanalysis of preclinical samples, but challenges still remain in the bioanalysis proteins.
