Last month, team SAMAPANA won the #SCIEXRunForLife August challenge. It raised more than $500 to support Cancer Prevention Research, by actively reaching out to their network, and asking for support!
Don't forget you can do the same if you're already running for this cause: ask your network, friends, colleagues, family, to support you by donating $$$ to your team (all collected funds will go to the Cancer Prevention Research).
If you're not running, it's never too late to join! Register today, order your #SCIEXRunForLife t-shirt, create your team, and start running: www.sciexrunforlife.com
The principle of the connected race is that you can create a team with people that are not necessarily close to you. You can run with colleagues, friends or family who are on the other side of the globe!
Now, we asked 3 questions to Keyang Xu (Genentech), member of team SAMAPANA:
- Why is running for cancer prevention research important for you? My work is involved in developing biotherapeutics to treat cancer. #SCIEXRunForLife is a great campaign which can help bring awareness of cancer and its prevention research to the life science research community and many average individuals.
- Does your job have anything in common with running? Doing R&D in some way is like running. There will be many ups and downs. It is challenging but if you keep pushing forward, you'll feel tremendously rewarding when reaching the finish line.
- Can you give us some running tips to keep the motivation? It is important to have a group of supportive teammates who have inspired and kept me motivated to continue running.
