Meet SCIEX and learn about industrialized biomarker research using SWATH Acquisition at HUPO 2017

SCIEX to present its latest technologies using mass spectrometry for proteomics at the 16th HUPO Congress, in Dublin, IRL

September 13, 2017

Framingham, MA — SCIEX, a global leader in life science analytical technologies, will present its latest technologies using powerful mass spectrometry for proteomics at the 16th Human Proteome Organization World Congress, HUPO2017, 17 - 21 September 2017 in Dublin.

At Booth #7, SCIEX will present its TripleTOF® 6600 System, which extends the power and features of the QTOF mass spectrometry technology, delivering high performance and reproducibility that can quantify virtually every detectable peptide in every run using variable window SWATH® Acquisition. The challenge of characterising complex proteomes requires innovative technology to detect and analyse a vast quantity of proteins. SCIEX SWATH Acquisition technology enables the quantification of thousands of proteins across large sample sets with a high level of data completeness, quantitative accuracy and reproducibility. SWATH Acquisition allows for comprehensive quantification, which is critical in biomarker or systems biology research. SWATH Acquisition has transformed quantitative proteomics, allowing all data to be captured across very large sample cohorts and now in combination with microflow chromatography, SCIEX is enabling industrialized proteomics.

The sheer volume of data now possible with Microflow SWATH Acquisition on the TripleTOF 6600 System is a positive step towards industrialized proteomics, however, new challenges can occur, such as a data processing bottleneck. The OneOmics™ Project from SCIEX is focused on moving SWATH data processing and results interpretation into the cloud environment for speed and scalability, and will be demonstrated at SCIEX´s booth, #7, throughout HUPO2017.

In addition, SCIEX will present a lunch seminar during the exhibition, focusing on biomarkers in ovarian cancer from SWATH maps of clinical samples. The invited speaker is Robert Graham Ph.D., Sr Lecturer in Clinical Proteomics, Deputy Director Stoller Biomarker Discovery Centre, University of Manchester. The seminar will be presented on Monday, 18th September, 1:00-2:30 PM at the Convention Center, Spencer Dock, Dublin. Attendance at the lunch seminar is open to all HUPO2017 delegates including press, and early registration is recommended.
