DiscoveryQuant™ 3.0.1 Software HotFix 2 Gives Not Registered Error

Issue Description

After installing DiscoveryQuant™ 3.0.1 software with hotfix 2, some users have reported receiving the following error message: "DiscoveryQuant is not Registered and Must Quit! Please complete the registration to continue" (see image). At first glance, this issue appears to be licensing related, but the sofware was properly licensed and activated.

Resolution

The root cause of this error is the presence of multiple instances of DiscoveryQuant™ software installed on the same PC. In one instance, the error message was displayed when DiscoveryQuant software versions 3.0, 3.0.1, 3.0.1 hotfix 1 and 3.0.1 hotfix 2 were all installed at the same time on the same PC. The installer for DiscoveryQuant software 3.0.1 hotfix 2 is an all-in-one installer and does not update any lower version of the software that might also be installed. All lower versions of DiscoveryQuant software must be uninstalled first, prior to installing the next iteration of the software.
