Answer

When the feature Initiate Transfer to Watson LIMS is selected in SCIEX OS software, software users find that the Analyst® software installed on the same workstation will no longer launch. This is the expected behavior for Analyst software and depends on the configuration and the installation order of other SCIEX software that were installed on the same PC.

If SCIEX OS software is installed first, followed by Analyst software, then users can expect that Analyst software may not launch.

When SCIEX OS software is installed prior to Analyst software, an Analyst impersonator (i.e., an emulator) is installed to facilitate the transfer to Watson LIMS. Even though both versions of the software are installed on the same PC, the path the data takes from SCIEX OS software to Watson does not require Analyst software be open on the same PC.

If the installation order was reversed, where Analyst software was installed first, followed by SCIEX OS software, then Analyst software would be able to launch successfully.
