Optimizing SWATH® Acquisition through sample prep: "The beauty of being (label) free"
Unlike traditional shotgun methods that can accurately quantify only a subset of the whole protein content, SWATH® data independent acquisition is an advanced methodology that delivers the comprehensive quantification of all proteins and peptides in a sample, accelerating biological research. A recent F1000 Research study authored by a team at the University of Cambridge has shown that optimizing sample preparation can validate and maximize quantification with SWATH®.
Specifically, the study reported that certain sample preparations used with SWATH® reduced signal variation and improved label-free quantitation up to 5X versus data-dependent methods, greatly enhancing the value of each sample run.
