The Analyst® or Analyst® TF software is only forward compatible.

What does this mean? Data that was acquired in a lower version of Analyst software can be processed in a higher version of Analyst (e.g., data acquired in Analyst 1.6 can be processed with Analyst® 1.7). The release notes for each version of Analyst software describes the forward compatibility of data with each new software version. However, both Analyst software types, Analyst® and Analyst® TF, are not backwards compatible. This means that once the data are acquired or processed in a higher version of Analyst software, they cannot be opened in a lower version of Analyst.
