How Does the Quadrupole Transmission Function in the TripleTOF® Systems Work?

For TOFMS, all ions pass through Q1 in RF mode. In general, Q1 and Q2 perform "hops" over the mass range, ensuring an appropriate envelope of masses is passed into the TOF analyzer. The general explanation found here for the QSTAR® systems can also be used to explain TripleTOF® systems as well.

Which Calibration Standards Can Be Used for Intact Protein Analysis on TripleTOF® and X500 Systemss?

An APCI calibrant solution for the SCIEX X500B System and a mAb standard from Waters were compared. Results show that the mass to charge ratio for the calibrant solutions remain constant regardless of the charge state. Secondly, for readings over 500 m/z, the calibration is highly linear for the X500B system.

Can a Precursor-ion IDA Experiment Be Performed on a SCIEX TripleTOF System?

None of the SCIEX TOF instruments, 5600, 5600+, 6600, X500R, or X500B, can do a precursor ion IDA experiment.
