Quantitate and confirm 13 azo dyes, 6 Sudan dyes, dimethyl yellow and Para Red in food
The iMethod™ Application provides a method for the analysis of azo dyes in food including the Sudan dyes (Sudan I, Sudan II, Sudan III and Sudan IV) as well as Para Red, Fast Garnet GBC, Orange II, Rhodamine B and Dimethyl Yellow. According to International Agency for Research on Cancer, azo dyes have been classified as potential carcinogenic substances. As a result, azo dyes are banned as food additives in the European Union.
Samples are prepared by homogenization, centrifugation, extraction, dilution, and examples of procedures are provided with the method. Deuterated internal standards of Sudan I and Sudan IV are added during sample preparation to monitor sample recovery. More in-depth sample preparation, instrument configuration, and setting information is included with this iMethod™ Application, upon purchase.
The SCIEX iMethod™ Application for the analysis of azo dyes is configured for use on the SCIEX 3200 and 4000 Series instrumentation.
The list of available iMethod™ Applications located in the iMethod™ Store is continually updated with the newest user-contributed and SCIEX lab-proven methods, so you can take immediate advantage of the latest advances. All iMethod™ Applications for food analysis are available for individual purchase or as part of one of our starter packs for food safety testing.
