- Antonio Serna-Sanz
The bicycle is claimed to be the most influential piece of product design ever. Being an avid cyclist, Antonio (kind of) agrees. SCIEX products are the most influential in Antonio’s world, and helping customers to advance science with our technology is what he does best.
Antonio Serna-Sanz is a Software and Application Support Specialist in EMEA. He is responsible for making the link between science and SCIEX products, helping our customers to better understand all the possibilities that SCIEX technologies can offer to make science possible. In his free time, Antonio enjoys cycling, for this is where he comes up with some of his best ideas for projects, talks, or solving problems. He also enjoys spending time traveling with his family.
“I am responsible of making the link between science and SCIEX products, helping our customers to better understand all the possibilities that our SCIEX technologies offer to make science possible.”
“One of the big players could well be the new era of Big Data and the Internet of Things. In the near future, we will all generate vast amounts of data; we may even have domestic mass specs monitoring air quality at home, food, or tap water. The power of info is sharing it. We are all surrounded by chemistry and mass spectrometry is the key to a better understating of it. Marie Curie said that 'Scientists believe in things not in persons', I believe in chemistry and in biochemistry.”
“Mass spectrometry will change the way humans understand medicine. We will move from a macroscopic diagnosis of disease to a molecular state. In the origin of every disease, there is a molecule acting wrong. We can target and monitor these molecules, opening new doors to better and more specific treatments for patients.”
“What keeps me constantly up is the possibility of learning on a daily basis together with my customers; we always advance together.”
“Currently, I am involved in a project which is focused on the use of SWATH® Acquisition as a control during CRISPR experiments.”
