This technical note utilizes FQ (3-2-(furoyl quinoline-2-carboxaldehyde) dye for sample labeling and a laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) detector with 488nm solid-state laser and an emission filter of 600nm for sample detection to increase the sensitivity of AAV capsid purity analysis. It demonstrates the capability of this CE-SDS-LIF method for purity analysis of AAV viral proteins to as low as 1X1010 GC/mL with easy sample preparation, excellent resolving power, good repeatability and linearity of absorbance response to sample concentration.

Here the X500R QTOF System with MetabolitePilot 2.0 was used to study the oxidative metabolism of four model compounds. Data was acquired with both data dependent and data independent strategies and to increase sample throughput a short 50 mm column and a 5 minute gradient were used. Generic and predicted metabolite peak finding were used in Metabolite Pilot software and the automatic structure proposal feature was used to speed data review.

Using a direct aqueous injection approach, the SCIEX 7500 system provided low-level quantification across a large suite of 431 determinands in water samples, achieving parts-per-trillion detection limits. The ease of processing and flexibility of SCIEX OS software reduced the time between sampling and reporting results, key for labs that monitor the health and purity of the water network.

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have excellent resistant properties and are thus widely used in packaging materials, firefighting foams and many other uses. As PFAS have been found in virtually every environmental matrix including drinking water supplies, making monitoring critical to ensure safety. Here, a comprehensive quantitative method for a suite of PFAS compounds was developed for analysis of water samples on the SCIEX 7500 system. This high sensitivity system provided S/N gains of ~5.5x on average across the 54 compounds analyzed versus the SCIEX 6500+ system.
