President of SCIEX
As President of SCIEX, Joe Fox is responsible for the global operations of SCIEX. In this role, Joe leads an organization passionate about innovation in analytical technology, dedicated to service and support, and enterprising in business partnerships, all in service to our customers’ needs. This is achieved by making SCIEX home to the industry’s best talent through a culture of inclusion, enablement, and diversity. SCIEX helps customers around the world get answers they can trust, to make critical decisions that positively impact lives.
Joe has been with SCIEX for more than 10 years where most recently, he was Senior Vice President, Global Sales & Service, leading a global team of Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, and Service Professionals to deliver profitable growth through customer focus. Prior to this, Joe held roles across a variety of functions and responsibilities including Business Unit and General Management. Before joining SCIEX, Joe held technical and commercial roles of increasing responsibility with Bruker and Shimadzu.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry from the University of Delaware and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Johns Hopkins University.
Vice President, Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs
As Vice President, Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs (QARA), Brenda is responsible for leading the company’s regulatory and quality strategies to ensure our policies, processes, practices and systems are operating in accordance with applicable standards for SCIEX and other regulatory organizations, globally.
Brenda has extensive experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries with detailed knowledge of quality systems and implementations; global, federal, and state regulatory requirements; manufacturing; analytical and microbiological testing and strategic development for product realization and launch.
Prior to joining SCIEX, Brenda was Vice President, Quality Management at Becton, Dickinson & Company, where she oversaw their worldwide Surgery Quality organization.
Brenda has an ABD Doctor of Philosophy in Civil Engineering with Nuclear Engineering Emphasis from the University of Utah and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Valdosta State University.
Vice President, Human Resources & Internal Communications
As Vice President, Human Resources & Internal Communications, Carli is responsible for leading organization and talent strategies to support the growth and advancement of the business and our teams. She is also responsible for creating and maximizing a highly productive, engaged and inclusive culture.
Before joining SCIEX, Carli spent nearly three years at Pall Corporation where she led the Human Resources team through multiple complex organization changes. Carli and her team were also the first to establish a key talent development program that is now being adopted by other Operating Companies within Danaher.
Prior to Pall, Carli worked at Hach for four and a half years in advancing roles focused on Learning and Development, Talent Management and Talent Acquisition. In addition, as a Global HR Director and Business Partner she supported Corporate Functions/Shared Services at the Operating Company and Water Quality Platform level.
Carli holds a BS in Business Administration, Marketing, and Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and received a MS in Organizational Performance from Bellevue University.
CFO and Global Vice President, Finance & IT
Chris Apicerno is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Global Vice President of Finance and Information Technology (IT) at SCIEX. He oversees all aspects of financial performance and IT for the company.
Chris has over 18 years of experience in finance, including 11 years with Danaher. Chris joined SCIEX in 2015 as Director, Finance, supporting the Global Service, Business Development and Controllership teams. In his most recent role as Senior Director, Financial Planning & Analysis, he was responsible for the company’s budgeting, forecasting and strategic plan analyses, working closely with leadership across the organization.
Prior to SCIEX, he served as the Controller at Setra Systems and Sonix, Inc. within the Danaher Industrial Technologies platform (now part of Fortive). He began his career at Huron Consulting Group where he worked in various roles, each with increasing responsibility.
Chris holds a B.S. in Business Administration, Finance and Business Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
Vice President, Global R&D
As Vice President, Global R&D, Chris is responsible for software and hardware Research and Development for LCMS & CE at SCIEX.
Since joining SCIEX over 20 years ago, Chris has held multiple technical and leadership roles with increasing responsibility. He has significant experience working with product and market management teams, and building strong cross-company relationships.
Most recently, he held the role of Vice President, LCMS R&D.
Prior to joining SCIEX, Chris worked as a Research Scientist at the Institute for Marine Biosciences, National Research Council Canada in Halifax.
Chris holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Translational Energy Spectrometry from the University of Wales, Swansea, UK.
Senior Vice President, Global Commercial Operations
As the Senior Vice President of Global Commercial Operations, Christian leads a team of sales, technical and customer support and market development professionals who are dedicated to solving valuable customer problems.
Christian has 25 years of experience in commercial and general management within the Life Sciences and in vitro diagnostic (IVD) industries, including over four years with SCIEX. Most recently, he was Vice President, Sales and Customer Service, and General Manager, EMEAI.
Prior to joining SCIEX, Christian managed his own consulting firm, working with small and mid-tech Biotech companies. Before this, he worked for Agilent for more than 18 years in roles of increasing responsibility, including four years as Vice President for the EMEAI Life Sciences Sales team and four years as the CEO & VP/GM of the DAKO Pathology Business.
Christian holds an M.Sc. in Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Würzburg.
Vice President, Product Management
As Vice President, Product Management, Jose is responsible for the overall ownership of the global SCIEX product portfolio for CE, LC/MS, software ecosystems and accessories including product line management, technology roadmap, new product development, and revenue/margin growth through value creation and commercial support.
Jose has 25 years of experience as a customer in Pharma, CRO and the Biotech industry. In addition to this, he held several senior roles at Waters focusing on marketing and business development for all products and services offered.
Jose joined SCIEX in 2019 as a Senior Director in Accurate Mass Product Management overseeing the entire portfolio of Accurate Mass products. During his tenure he was responsible for the Accurate Mass product line strategy and the execution of that strategy from ideation to end-of-life. In addition to this, he also held a leadership role in Market Development where he was responsible for developing the inbound and outbound marketing strategy for the entire SCIEX product portfolio.
Jose holds a BSc in Chemistry from King’s College London, an MSc in Clinical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Surrey in the UK and a Ph.D. in Metabolomics from Leiden University in the Netherlands.
Vice President, Strategic Marketing
As Vice President, Strategic Marketing, Kerry is responsible for leading the definition, development and effective implementation of all market identification, segmentation, and strategic growth plans for the global business. She leads interdisciplinary teams to grow multiple product segments and markets as well as collaborates with our Commercial and Product Development teams to implement effective product and market solutions.
Kerry has more than 20 years of experience in marketing, management, and strategy roles. Prior to joining SCIEX she worked at MilliporeSigma. Her experiences there included strengthening portfolio through balancing market leading products with expansion into new growth areas, leading culture and process alignment in critical organization changes, and collaborating with commercial teams to target new opportunities. Prior to MilliporeSigma, Kerry was with Mercer Management Consulting where she worked with energy, consumer products, and pharma/life science industry clients on market/portfolio assessments, strategy development, organization redesign and performance improvement projects.
Kerry has an A.B. in Chemistry from Princeton University and a Master of Business Administration from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
Vice President, Global Service
Kevin Roberts is Vice President, Global Service. He is accountable for service operations globally and the delivery of customer-centric service and support worldwide.
Kevin has been with SCIEX for more than 26 years. He joined the company as a Field Service Engineer and worked his way up to his current leadership position. Over the years, he has played a leading role in implementing a competitive and differentiating global service strategy, an enhanced aftermarket product portfolio, the expansion and increased effectiveness of our aftermarket sales organization and a best-in-class service organization focused on customer success. Prior to joining SCIEX Kevin worked at The Institute for Genomic Research as a laboratory technician in the DNA Sequencing division. He was also a Helicopter Crew Chief in the United States Marine Corps and served as a member of the Presidential Helicopter Squadron (HMX-1).
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
Vice President, Danaher Business System
As Vice President, Danaher Business System (DBS), Mark is responsible for the strategic integration of DBS to support the Company’s continued success in operations excellence, product and technology innovation and commercial execution.
Mark joined SCIEX in 2011 and has over 20 years of experience driving growth of LCMS products, consumables and service offerings. Most recently, Mark was Senior Director, Innovation and Product Planning where he focused on analyzing trends and external forces influencing our businesses and evaluating customer problems to identify attractive market segments to drive development of innovative solutions for our customers.
Before joining SCIEX, Mark spent more than 11 years as a mass spectrometry specialist at Waters working in Service, Applications Support, and Sales.
Mark received his BS in Chemistry from Tufts University and his MBA from Framingham State University.
Vice President, Global Operations
As Vice President, Global Operations, Micael is responsible for global order fulfillment, global manufacturing, and global sourcing, as well as Environment, Health & Safety (EHS), and the Danaher Business Systems (DBS) within Operations.
Prior to this role, Micael was Senior Director, Global Supply Chain, leading our global distribution centers, product distribution and fulfillment, factory supply chain management and global commodities supply planning. Before joining SCIEX, Micael held supply chain and supply chain related roles with UK Retailer Carphone Warehouse, UK Management Consultancy Celerant, and spent 19 years at Motorola covering regional and global roles based out of the UK, Germany and Sweden.
Micael received his education in Engineering Management from Eskilstuna/Vasteras University and his training in Finance from Stockholm University.
Vice President & General Counsel, SCIEX and Life Sciences Instruments Group
As Vice President & General Counsel, SCIEX and Life Sciences Instruments Group (LSIG), Mike oversees the legal functions for both SCIEX and the LSIG Operating Companies.
Mike brings more than 20 years of legal experience to SCIEX, most of it in the medical device industry. Prior to joining SCIEX, Mike was Vice President and Associate General Counsel at Cardinal Health, where he was responsible for leading the integration of a newly-acquired company into the Cardinal Health legal team to ensure continuity and stability of legal support to the business. Prior to this, he was Vice President and General Counsel of the Patient Monitoring and Recovery Global Business Unit at Medtronic.
Mike holds a B.A. in Economics from Bates College in Lewiston, ME, US and his Juris Doctor (JD) Degree (magna cum laude) from the Boston University School of Law, Boston, MA, US.
Vice President & General Manager, SCIEX China
Tony Cai joined SCIEX in September 2023 and is responsible for SCIEX China’s P&L. He manages China’s business priorities, oversees operations and develops organization capability to accelerate growth, enhance customer satisfaction and develop talent.
Prior to SCIEX, Tony was General Manager for Beckman Life Sciences China since October 2021. He established a high-performance culture and strengthened team capabilities on commercial and localization. He joined Beckman Life Sciences from Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, where he advanced in leadership over a three-year period as General Manager, Innovation and Growth. Prior to Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, Tony worked at GE Healthcare for 18 years as General Manager, Commercial Operations, and General Manager, Commercial Excellence.
Tony earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Tongji University.
