Daniel McMillan

Dan has been working in the MS industry for over 20 years as an instrument and applications specialist and is now responsible for developing the food, environmental and forensic markets throughout the EMEAI region. He has worked with major research and regulatory organisations to develop new applications in line with legislation, primarily in the area of contaminant analysis. Recent changes in the requirements imposed on and the challenges facing laboratories are constantly evolving, and Dan’s role is now primarily to ensure SCIEX produce relevant solutions and to promote them in industry.

Carlos Bueno

Senior Application Support Specialist, SCIEX

Carlos Bueno holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Burgos. He has joined SCIEX last December from Eurofins Iberia where he was holding the position of R&D manager. Carlos has worked for more than 17 years as application’s specialists providing training courses and developing methodologies in different markets (food testing, environmental, toxicology, doping, clinical,…) with techniques based on chromatography and mass spectrometry. 

Dr. Bernd Thierfelder

Executive Account Manager, Phenomenex

Dr. Bernd Thierfelder received his doctorate from Saarland University in the field of pharmaceutical chemistry and completed his thesis in 2001. In the same year, he joined Phenomenex as a technical customer consultant and two years later took up the position of product specialist for Phenomenex sample preparation and LC products. Since then, he has been in charge of the ever-expanding product portfolio, which includes solid phase extraction and QuEChERS products as well as HPLC columns etc. Particularly, in the field of solid phase extraction and LC, he has presented several seminars on the fundamentals and method development in recent years, as well as providing theoretical and practical application support for users of these analytical techniques.
