Issue Description

While opening a processing method (.qmethod) in the Analytics workspace of SCIEX OS software, an error is generated, "A different license is required to open the selected method."

Resolution

This error results when opening a processing method (.qmethod) that was created in a version of the software supported by a SCIEX OS-Q license and was then migrated to an installation of SCIEX OS software supported with a SCIEX OS-MQ license. The SCIEX OS-MQ license is used only for targeted quantitation, while SCIEX OS-Q is used for quantitation as well as for identification and non-targeted library searching workflows.

When a processing method is created in SCIEX OS-Q software, the Quantitation and targeted identification checkbox is automatically checked along with the Quantitation checkbox in the Workflow tab of the processing method (see below).

Because SCIEX OS-MQ-licensed software does not support targeted identification, processing methods created in SCIEX OS-Q are too complex to be opened in SCIEX OS-MQ software. To resolve this, open the processing method that is generating the error in software supported with a SCIEX OS-Q license, make sure both the Quantitation and targeted identification and the Non-targeted screening boxes are unchecked, save as a new method, and then move this new processing method to the SCIEX OS-MQ software installation. The processing method should now open.
