Resolving the Error in SCIEX OS Software: Access To Path Is Denied

Issue Description

In the Analytics mode of SCIEX OS software, an error will appear that states the following:
"Access to the path C:\program files\sciex\sciex os\method.exml is denied."

This error can appear when performing tasks such as creating reports, creating a new processing method, or changing project default settings.

Resolution

This error results when the project folder lacks a Project Information sub-folder. The error appears if the subfolder was accidentally removed or if the project was not created through the Projects tab in the Configuration section of SCIEX OS software but manually using Windows File Explorer.

If the sub folder was accidentally removed, create a new project through SCIEX OS software and copy the newly created Project Information folder into the faulty project.

If the original project was created manually using File Explorer, create a new project through SCIEX OS software and transfer the data from the original project into the new, properly created project.
