Issue DescriptionÂ
The issue results in 0KB wiff file being created in the network location which cannot be opened by SCIEX Software. The cause is network filenames which exceed the 127 character limit when they are in the network location but < 127 characters when they are in local acquisition state.
 Resolution
The issue is resolved by reducing the length of filenames and using Sample ID or Custom Columns to enter sample data rather than the filename. When considering filenames it is also important to note that the filename length is the full UNC filename character count.
Example
\\SERVERNAME\SHARE LEVEL 1\SHARE LEVEL 2\Analyst Data\Projects\API Instrument\Data\FILENAME1.wiff
In this example the every character would count towards the 127 limit (in this example 97 characters are used so brevity is essential when naming files)
