Answer
ProteinPilot Software is available with different configurations which will enable different levels of processing power / speed. The license you have defines the number of CPU cores the computer will use when processing the data (providing the number of cores in the computer is greater than or equal to the number of Cores defined in your license).
ProteinPilot is currently available in 2, 8, 16 & 32 core configurations.
To find out how many CPU Cores your License will support execute the following command from command line
findstr "NUMTASKS" "C:\Program Files\AB Sciex\ProteinPilot\ProteinPilot.lic"
which will print a value similar to
INCREMENT ABSCX.PROPILOT.NUMTASKS ScxMSSW0 8.000 permanent uncounted \
Where 8.000 is the number of cores which are licensed
