Answer

To enable electron-activated dissociation (EAD) fragmentation mode in SCIEX OS software, users must select the Show EAD parameters option from the Options menu in the MS Method workspace. When creating a new MS Method for TOF instruments, the only fragmentation mode available by default is collision-induced dissociation (CID), and the ability to change this is greyed out.

To change this, click on the Options drop-down menu in the top right and then select the Show EAD parameters option.

Once completed, the fragmentation mode drop-down menu in the MS Method becomes available, and the option for EAD fragmentation appears.  Fields for EAD parameters such as Electron KE, ETC, and Electron beam current also become available.
