Answer

Data under acquisition can be automatically processed and added to a results table on a sample-by-sample basis in the Batch workspace in SCIEX OS software. Entering a processing method and a results file name into the Batch workspace in Analytics triggers the auto-processing feature. Individual samples are processed into a results table that is progressively constructed over the course of data acquisition. The auto-processed samples can be added to an existing results table or an entirely new table.

When creating the batch, auto-processing is triggered by entering information to two columns: Processing Method and Results File. If no information is selected for these two columns, then auto-creation of the results table will not occur. In the Processing Method column, select a processing method from the drop-down that will be used to process the samples. If no processing method is available, open the Analytics workspace to create one for your project.

In the Results File column, type the name of the new results table to be created. An existing results table can also be selected from the drop-down menu of the Results File column. If this is done, the processing method column will read the embedded method for that particular .qsession file.

After submitting the batch, the queue will track processing stats in an additional column, Auto Processing Status. This column will have one of five icons signaling the processing status:

  • Completed: Sample was processed successfully
  • Warning: Processing was stopped by the user
  • Failed: Sample was not processed successfully
  • In progress:Sample is being processed
  • Waiting: Sample has not been processed yet
Double-clicking the icon for a processed sample opens the results table. If samples are still being processed into it, the results table will open in read-only mode.
