Issue Description

A Shimadzu LC system may not be recognized and may not be able to be configured by the Analyst 1.7 software if the computer image on the PC was not sourced from SCIEX. Some users using self-sourced PCs with an alternate, non-SCIEX computer image have been unable to configure their Shimadzu LC systems after upgrading to Analyst® 1.7 software. This issue does not appear to be related to the version of operating system used since the issue has been seen on both Windows 10 and Windows 7, 64-bit computers.

Resolution

The issue was caused by a few dynamic link library files (with extension .DLL) that were missing from the non-SCIEX sourced image. The missing .dll files that are needed for recognition of the Shimadzu LC are attached to this article. To install them, copy both files to the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Analyst\bin and then reboot your PC. Please consult with SCIEX technical support for further assistance or to obtain copies of the missing files.
