Issue Description

There are several signs in Analyst® software that a rack is not seated correctly in the Shimadzu autosampler housing:

  • The submitted batch equilibrates for a short time and then shuts down.
  • An error message appears in the queue about the Shimadzu LC controller.
  • Equilibration fails with both old and new methods.

Resolution

Some of these events may be due to software communication issues, so the PC and software should be rebooted and the LCMS system should be reset.

If there is an error with the rack, this can be confirmed by reviewing the Shimadzu event logs, but this needs to be completed by trained service personnel. However, during the troubleshooting process, its worth trying to reseat the autosampler rack properly. After re-seating rack, reboot the LC and restart the software before submitting the next batch.
