Storing Tuning Solution Lot Number and Expiry into Tuning functions
To better assist and track instrument performance as well as provide a higher degree of compliance in a regulated environment it would be beneficial to add the Lot Number and Expiry of the Tuning Solutions in use on the X500 series. The proposed method of storage is to modify the initial start page that contains the instructions for use of the Quick Tune when using the "+" or "-" (or Advanced Tuning). The modification would contain two entry locations, one for Lot Number and one for Expiry of the used solution. These values could then be written into the State File for storage and tracking. Since they would be contained in the State File opening any Quick Tune or Advanced Tune would then automatically populate the previously used values avoiding re-entering of values by the user. If the user changes solutions they would simply update the values during the next tuning session, save the updated State File, rewriting the new values to the system for storage and compliance. By building these entry fields into the tuning sessions and coupling them to the State File one could better assess instrument performance over time as well as discern whether the calibrant was leading to the perception of reduced instrument performance or if there was indeed a real issue.
