Just download a method, add your sample, and you're ready to go

iMethodTM Applications for food testing provide instant LC/MS/MS methods, enabling you to generate accurate and precise results faster. Simply download a lab-proven method from the web or a CD into Cliquid® Software and run your sample. All the instrument parameters are downloaded upon installation. Everything you need to start running a test immediately is included: sample preparation protocols, optimized MS and LC parameters, integration parameters, reporting templates, and documentation.

Detect acrylamide in cooked starch-enriched food

The iMethod™ Application provides a method for the detection of acrylamide in food. Acrylamide has been classified as "a probable carcinogen to humans" by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). The carcinogenic effect of acrylamide has been proven in different animal studies. While it is not entirely known how acrylamide is produced, Tareke et al. (2002) have found increased levels of acrylamide in starch-enriched foods such as potatoes, beets, and potato chips.1

Examples of sample preparation are provided for milk- and starch-enriched foods. While the actual protocol outlined is dependent upon the sample matrix, most samples are prepared by simple homogenization, centrifugation, extraction, and dilution. A deuterated internal standard of acrylamide is added during sample preparation to monitor sample recovery. More in-depth sample preparation and instrument parameters are provided with this iMethod™ Application upon purchase.

The SCIEX iMethod™ Application for the detection of acrylamide is configured for use on the SCIEX 3200 and 4000 Series instrumentation.

The list of available iMethod™ Applications located in the iMethod™ Store is continually updated with the newest user-contributed and SCIEX lab-proven methods, so you can take immediate advantage of the latest advances. All iMethod™ Applications for food analysis are available for individual purchase or as part of one of our starter packs for food safety testing.
