Talk environmental science

Chemical pollution is acknowledged as one of our major environmental issues, but the threats have not been fully defined. Technology advances are helping scientists quantify the risks.

How chemical pollution affects humans and other living things has long demanded more thorough investigation. Driven by growth in the omics fields — proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics and exposomics — environmental toxicology is making progress. With more powerful analytical instruments and more data available for interpretation by machine learning, researchers are identifying pathways and better pinpointing the risks.
