Issue Description
A SCIEX OS software user encountered the following error while attempting to use a new project: "The current user does not have write access to the requested project."Â The project folder was created in an existing SCIEX OS root directory on a processing PC.
Resolution
The common-project-area folder in the SCIEX OS Data folder needs to be present in the root directory when creating a project. If it is missing, the above error message will appear. Previously created projects will not be affected, only newly created projects. To resolve this issue, the missing common-project-area folder in the root directory needs to be replaced by copying over an intact root directory from another PC.
If the SCIEX OS data folder needs to be restored after moving the software to a new PC, then backup the whole SCIEX OS data folder on the original PC, so that the common-project-area folder will also be included when copying over the SCIEX OS data folder to a new system.
