Answer

A custom column can be added to a results table in SCIEX OS software by selecting the More menu in the Analytics module and then the Add customer column option. After naming the column, users can manually enter data into this column. When adding a custom column to a result table in SCIEX OS software this way, the custom column will only be available in the results table to which it was added. It will not be saved in the quantitation method file (.qmethod) or the workspace layout file (.qlayout).

As a result, every time new data is processed, the user has to create a custom column in the results table to enter data (e.g., sample weight). To avoid having to add a new custom column each time a results table is created, users can add a custom column to the batch in Analyst® or SCIEX OS software and manually add or paste the information in the batch, which can then be saved as a batch template.

For example, adding sample weights for each sample to a results table could be entered to a custom column already built into the batch template in the same way known concentrations are entered into the batch. This data will then be carried over to the results table in the Analytics module through the data file (*.wiff).
