Printing an Unsecured Report as a PDF with MultQuant™ or SCIEX OS Software

Reports printed as PDF files from either SCIEX OS or MultiQuant™ software are always secure because they are printed using pdfFactory. To print unsecured PDF reports, the following workaround must be followed:

For SCIEX OS software:
1. Login under the local admin account.
2. Find the C:\Program Files\SCIEX\SCIEX OS\ folder.
3. Open the file SciexOS.exe.config with Notepad.
4. Find the line <add key="AlwaysUsePDFFactoryOnly" value="true"/>. Replace "true" with "false". Save the change to the SciexOS.exe.config file.

For MultiQuant software:
1. Login under the local admin account.
2. Find the C:\Program Files\AB SCIEX\MultiQuant 3.0\bin folder.
3. Open the file MultiQuant.exe.config with Notepad.
4. Find the line <add key="AlwaysUsePDFFactoryOnly" value="true"/>. Replace "true" with "false". Save the change to the MultiQuant.exe.config.

Now Microsoft Word will create the reports as an unsecured PDF file, not pdfFactory (whose PDF reports are always secure).
