Answer

When switching plates on the ExionLC AD (e.g., from deep well 96 to deep well 384), the plate type needs to be changed within the SCIEX OS software and also set on the ExionLC AD controller.

First, change the plate type within SCIEX OS software. When creating a batch, do the following:
1) Click on Plate Layout in the top right of the batch screen.
2) Select the drop-down options for Plate Position, and, in this example, select Plate Rack.
3) Under the drop-down options for Plate Type, select Deep Well 384.

If the batch is run with the above settings, the following error could appear, "The plate type specified in the method does not match the type of plate detected in the instrument."

If this error appears, the following steps are needed:
1) Deactivate the hardware profile
2) On the sampler, hit the function key to get to parameter settings (1 press)
3) Press enter
4) Select function until you get to MTP well (8 presses)
5) Hit 1 (1 is for local and 0 is for remote)
6) Hit enter
7) Hit 1 (0 is for 96 well 1 is 384 well)
8) Hit enter
9) Then select CE 3 times to return to the menu. The display should then read DWP 384.

Afterwards, the plate will likely require calibration, and the steps to perform this can be found in the Shimadzu SIL-30 Instruction Manual. Please reach out to the SCIEX technical support to obtain this document and for further assistance if needed.
