Creating data sub-folders in a project in SCIEX OS Software

In Analyst®, multiple sub-projects could be added to the same project folder, and each sub-project had the same folder structure as a project. The SCIEX OS software does not provide a sub-project option when setting up a project, unlike Analyst software. Instead, users can further organize their data within projects by creating sub-folders in SCIEX OS software. This article explains how to create a sub-project using the "Add Data Sub-Folders" dialog in the Configuration workspace.

To add a Data Sub-Folder to a project:

1. Open the Configuration workspace.

2. Click Projects.

3. Select Add Data Sub-Folders to any Project, and then the Add Data Sub-Folders dialog box will open.

4. In the SCIEX OS Project field, select the project to which the sub-folder is to be added.

5. Click Add a new data sub-folder icon (white plus sign in a blue circle) located above the box in the Project Data Sub-Folders section. The Data Sub-Folder Name dialog opens.

6. Type the name of the sub-folder.

7. Click Save.

8. Close the Add Data Sub-Folders dialog.

9. Check the SCIEX OS Data folder to ensure that the newly created sub-project was created in the correct folder.

Note: If the Analyst Data folder is selected as the root directory, sub-folders cannot be added to the project using this dialog.
