Issue Description
When creating a report in SCIEX OS software, there is an option to check a box to generate an individual report for each sample. This will create a folder where the separate reports are saved, one for each sample. Reporting out in this manner requires a few preliminary steps to ensure that the appropriate samples are selected. It is possible that the folder may only contain one report representing only one sample, instead of multiple individual reports for each sample.
Resolution
To prevent the one sample output scenario, users must understand how SCIEX OS software decides which samples will be reported out when the individual reports option is checked.
One way to ensure that the desired samples are output into individual reports is to highlight each sample under the Samples tab in the Analytics pane (see below). This can be done by holding CTRL and then selecting the desired samples. (If reports were created based the samples selected in the figure below, the report folder would now contain individual reports for 1633 1B, Cal 2, Cal 3, and Cal 4.)
Typically, the issue of generating only one report happens when only one sample is selected in the Samples tab.
The second option for ensuring all samples are output into individual reports is to select a component in the Components and Groups tab. Regardless of which component is highlighted, when the reports are generated, the folder will contain reports for all the samples in the results table. The only caveat is in this situation is if there are filters applied (i.e., to display only standards), the reports will be only for samples that are standards. To avoid this, make sure that no filters are applied.
