Under the Belgian packaging regulations, as an importer of packaged products into Belgium, SCIEX is required to financially contribute to the take-back and recycling of waste packaging, as necessary to meet the packaging recovery and recycling targets in Belgium.
SCIEX fulfils this requirement as a member of the VAL-I-PAC compliance scheme. SCIEX pays packaging recycling fees to the scheme in proportion to the amount of packaging SCIEX places on the Belgian market, to finance the take-back and recycling of waste packaging and meet the recovery and recycling targets.
