Waters Acquity Driver run as a service
Unlike the Agilent Device Driver, the Waters Driver Pack does not run as a service, causing the driver to stop when a user logs off to the system. Only the 'switch user' option can be used for longer runs, so other users can use and check the system. The switch user option however creates a new instance of the driver running, with a high possibility of conflicting tasks send to the Waters Acquity. We raised the issue at Waters to request a driver that can be run as a service. Please find the official Waters reply below: "- For this Defect we created the CRI and CRI Number is CRI-1209. We also request the customer to contact Sciex also for this problem. In order to use a service (for example, Empower uses the service launched by InstrumentServer), the Analyst software likely would be modified in addition to any changes that Waters would need to make." Please work together with Waters to fix this. Thank you.
