In view of the quality control of Wuji Baifeng pill, the State Food and Drug Administration issued a supplementary test method for ginsenoside F11 in Wuji Baifeng Pill on April 1. Based on the illegal addition of ginsenoside F11, a liquid quality detection method of ginsenoside F11 in Wuji Baifeng pills was established, which improved the sensitivity and specificity of the method, and provided a basis for the quality control of Wuji Baifeng pills.

Presence of the main marijuana metabolite (i.e. THC-COOH) in hair indicates active drug usage. However the level in hair is very low and therefore requires very sensitivity and specific detection methods. Here a 6 step solid phase extraction procedure was developed using SAX SPE and optimized for selective analysis of THC-COOH. Combined with the SCIEX Triple Quad™ 4500 LC-MS/MS System, sensitive detection of trace levels of THC-COOH (0.2 pg/mg) in hair samples was achieved.
